The Bison is a hearty animal and its hide reflects that, it is tougher and stronger than cow hide per ounce and with that toughness comes unique textures of a life lived beyond fencelines.

Most Bison herds are raised, free-range in open prairies in the US west, predominantly Colorado, Wyoming and Montana and as far east as Indiana.

Since nearing extinction in the late 1800’s, the American Bison is almost exclusively found in the United States, with a few herds extending into Canada towards Alaska and some just across the border into Mexico.
